RENO, Nev. - Nevada assistant coach James Spady is a semifinalist for the head coaching job at Southern University. Southern Athletic Director made that announcement on Monday.

Spady is in his third season as the Wolf Pack's tight ends coach and the co-offensive line coach. He was the offensive coordinator at Grambling State from 2007-2009, helping the Tigers win the SWAC title in 2008.

According to our affiliate in Baton Rouge, WBRZ, Dr. William Broussard will make his recommendation to the Board of Supervisors at a meeting on December 14th. His choice will weigh heavily in the decision for the coaching job.

Spady and the Wolf Pack (7-5) will play Arizona (7-5) in the New Mexico Bowl on December 15th. That game will air live on ESPN at 10am.
