COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West All-Conference Women’s Volleyball awards, as selected by the league's nine head coaches, were announced today by the league office and included University of Nevada middle blocker Tessa Lea’ea. The sophomore from Stockton, Calif. (Cesar Chavez HS) was named to the 2012 Mountain West All-Conference Women’s Volleyball Team.

She led Nevada in a multitude of categories in her second season as the Wolf Pack's starting middle blocker, including kills (336), kills per set (3.14), attacks (811), hitting percentage (.263), solo blocks (25), assisted blocks (116) and total blocks (141). Her 25 solo blocks ranks her T-9 for a single season at Nevada with two players and led all Mountain West participants in 2012.

At the conference level, she finished inside the top-10 in six other categories, including eighth in kills and kills per set. She also finished inside the top-10 in solo, assisted and total blocks, blocks per set and points scored.

She was one of three Wolf Pack players to play in every set (104) and start every match. Lea’ea has now been named an all-conference selection in each of her first two collegiate seasons after being honored by the Mountain West on Tuesday. In Nevada’s final season in the WAC in 2011, she was recognized with all-freshman team honors.
