RENO, Nev. - Wolf Pack junior guard Jerry Evans Jr. was arrested on Wednesday night on a contempt of court charge.
Nevada head coach David Carter issued a statement on Friday to address the situation.
"Jerry Evans came to me to let me know that during a traffic stop on Wednesday, he was arrested on contempt of a court charge for an unpaid traffic ticket. He will be paying the fine for the outstanding ticket on Monday. I have spoken to Jerry at length about the importance of taking care of your responsibilities. Jerry has learned a valuable lesson from this experience, and we will handle any additional disciplinary action internally.”
Evans averaged 7.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game last season.
