Nevada's Byler Named MWC Player of the Week

Wolf Pack first baseman Austin Byler has been named the Mountain West Baseball Player of the Week. It's the second time this season that he has earned this honor.

Byler batted .500 over a five-game stretch, leading the Wolf Pack to a 3-2 record. He had nine hits, seven runs scored and seven RBI. He also belted three home runs, giving him a conference-high 13 this season.

The junior from Peoria, Arizona, leads the Wolf Pack in batting average, triples, home runs, and RBI. He's batting .350 this season, with 13 doubles, five triples and 42 RBI.

Byler is rated as a Top 100 prospect by ESPN's Keith Law, coming in 91st on that list.
