Nevada Shutout in Final Game at San Diego State

SAN DIEGO – The University of Nevada (6-9, 3-6 MW) baseball team was shutout for the first time this season falling 3-0 at San Diego State (11-4, 4-2 MW) in the final game of a three-game Mountain West series at Tony Gywnn Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Wolf Pack lost two of the three games in the series and is 6-9 overall and 3-6 in MW play. The Aztecs improved to 11-4 and 4-2 in conference action.

SDSU got RBI singles from Ty France and Seby Zavala in the bottom of the first inning to take the early 2-0 lead. France added a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh to make the final score 3-0.

Mark Seyler (3-1) allowed just three hits in eight shutout innings to earn his third win of the season. Michael Cederoth (6) posted his sixth save pitching a scoreless ninth inning. Pack starter Trenton Brooks (0-1) lost for the first time allowing the two runs in the first inning.

Kewby Meyer, Jordan Devencenzi and Justin Bridgman had singles as the Pack managed just three hits. France (2-for-4,R,2RBI) had two hits and two RBI for SDSU.

Nevada returns to action on Tuesday hosting Pacific (8-10) at 4 p.m. The Pack defeated the Tigers 8-4 in Stockton, Calif. last Tuesday. The game will air on 1060 AM with Alex Margulies calling the game and free audio is available at A free video stream can be found at
