RENO, Nev. – University of Nevada head volleyball coach Ruth Lawanson has named Megan Burton to her staff as an assistant coach. Burton will work with the Wolf Pack middle blockers.

“I'm very excited about Megan joining my staff,” Lawanson said. “She is a very bright young coach and will be a tremendous asset in the gym. Megan's primary responsibility will be training middle blockers, she will assist with our front court defense and preparing scouting reports.”

Burton comes to the Wolf Pack after one season at San José State University and two seasons as the volunteer assistant coach at her alma mater St. Mary’s College.

"I want to thank Doug Knuth, Rhonda Bennett and Ruth Lawanson for this great opportunity to be a part of something special, here at the University of Nevada,” Burton said. “In addition to competing in a tough volleyball conference, Nevada is a challenging academic university, where student-athletes are able to thrive both on and off the court. Ruth is an exceptional coach with a tremendous amount of volleyball knowledge and I am humbled to learn and grow within her program. I am thrilled to start spring training with the team and am eager to make progress in the gym. Nevada is a special place and I am excited to contribute to the volleyball tradition and honored to be a member of the Nevada Athletics family."
