Reno, Nev.— Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder and 2010 NLCS MVP Cody Ross will start the season with the Reno Aces on a rehab assignment, the Arizona Diamondbacks announced today.

Ross won the 2010 NLCS MVP award as a member of the San Francisco Giants and helped the club go on to win the World Series over the Texas Rangers.

A ten-year major league veteran, Ross dislocated his hip on Aug. 11, 2013 while running to first base.

Ross signed a three-year contract with Arizona in December of 2012 and hit .278 with eight home runs and 38 RBI in 94 games last season before suffering the hip injury.

Ross is a career .264 hitter with 130 home runs and 490 RBI in 981 major league games. He played one game with the Aces last season, going 2-for-3 with a double.
