LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles city officials want to hear alternatives to Anschutz Entertainment Group's downtown stadium plan in case the entertainment giant can't reach an agreement with the NFL on Farmer's Field.

The Los Angeles Times reports the city council's committee overseeing the deal asked for more options Wednesday.

Councilwoman Jan Perry hopes the city can continue to work with AEG in drawing an NFL franchise and building a stadium in downtown Los Angeles following a recent shakeup.

AEG was for sale until it was taken off the market by its billionaire owner Philip Anschutz earlier this month, amid efforts to lure an NFL team to Los Angeles.

LA has been without an NFL team since the Rams moved to St. Louis and the Raiders departed for Oakland in 1995.
