Newly hired Nevada assistant football coach Jeff Genyk has accepted a job with the Wisconsin Badgers.

The 52-year-old Genyk, who was hired as the Wolf Pack's special teams and running backs coach in January, will coach special teams and tight ends at Wisconsin.

FootballScoop.com is reporting that Wolf Pack head coach Brian Polian already has a shortlist of candidates to replace Genyk.

Polian released the following statement:

"We want to wish Jeff Genyk the best of luck as he decided pursue another opportunity at Wisconsin. The timing of this transition is not ideal, but given Jeff’s family ties in the Midwest, we understand his desire to be back in that part of the country. The process of interviewing candidates for the special teams/running backs job has already begun and I am confident that we will hire another top flight coach who wants to be a part of what we are building here at the University of Nevada."
