“We’re very pleased about the addition of Retief Goosen and Geoff Ogilvy to our field of players,” Chris Hoff, Tournament Director, said. “It’s players such as these who add extra excitement to our event and who the fans come out to see.”

Goosen and Ogilvy add to the list of impressive golfers who have already committedincluding John Daly, Padraig Harrington, and up-and-comer Patrick Rodgers. On Friday, July 25 the entire field of players will be released for Barracuda Championship.

Barracuda Championship is the PGA TOUR’s only tournament to use the Modified Stableford scoring system. It encourages aggressive play by awarding positive points for birdie or better (8 for double eagle, 5 for eagle, 2 for birdie) and subtracting points for bogey (minus-1) or worse (minus-3) promoting each player to fight to the finish. Last year’s champion, Gary Woodland, tallied 44 points over four rounds to win his share of the $3 million purse. Woodland made history at the 2014 Masters by tieing all time first round record by shooting 30 at Augusta.

Barracuda Championship is scheduled for July 31-Aug. 3, 2014, at Montrêux Golf & Country Club in Reno, Nev.
