SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - The San Francisco Giants have optioned left-hander Mike Kickham back to Triple-A Fresno a day after he made his major league debut against the Oakland Athletics.

Kickham pitched 2 1-3 innings Tuesday in a 6-3 loss to the A's in the Bay Bridge Series. San Francisco assistant general manager Bobby Evans says the club will purchase the contract of right-handed reliever Ramon Ramirez from Fresno and add him to the 25-man roster.

The reigning World Series champions still must make a move on the 40-man roster to clear a spot for Ramirez, a member of the 2010 World Series title team before getting re-signed to a minor league deal last offseason.
