Former Wolf Pack catcher Brett Hayes was claimed off of waivers by the Kansas City Royals on Friday.
Hayes batted .202 with six doubles and three RBI in 39 games with the Marlins last season. He's spent all four years of his major league career with Miami.
He's a pretty good defensive catcher too. Hayes has thrown out 19 of the 74 base runners (25%) during his career.
