Former McQueen Football Coach Ken Dalton Dies of Cancer

RENO, Nev. - Legendary former McQueen football coach Ken Dalton lost his battle with cancer on Thursday. Dalton was diagnosed with skin cancer back in 2009.

He spent 27 years as the Lancers head coach, leading them to six state titles, including his final season back in 2008. He made it to the postseason 20 times during that run, finishing with 308 career wins. He also captured 11 regional titles.

McQueen inducted Dalton into their Hall of Fame last season. They also renamed the field Ken Dalton Field back in 2010.

The school will hold a public memorial service on Sunday, Jan. 13 at 1 p.m. in the McQueen High gym.
