ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates (AP) - Ferrari's Fernando Alonso insists his quest for the Formula One championship is very much alive, despite Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel winning the past four races and driving a faster car.
Their duel resumes this weekend at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Trailing Vettel by 13 points with three races remaining, Alonso understands his car's pace has to improve if he has any chance of catching the two-time defending champion.
The Spaniard finished a distant second to Vettel at the Indian GP last weekend and said he must finish ahead of the Red Bull driver this time around.
Red Bull can clinch the constructors' championship this weekend with strong finishes from Vettel and Mark Webber. The team is 91 points in front of Ferrari and 101 ahead of McLaren.
