DALY CITY, Calif. - Former Wolf Pack golfer and Fallon high graduate Scott Smith has qualified for the 2012 U.S. Open.
The Fallon native shot a 7-under-137 at the Lake Merced Golf Club and TPC at Harding Park Monday. Smith shot a 4-under at Lake Merced in his opening round. He scored a 3-under at Harding Park in the second round.
Smith tied for second with another former Wolf Pack golfer: Michael Allen.
The 112th U.S. Open at the Olympic Club in San Francisco is June 11-17.
