Fallon's Mauga Signs with Kansas City Chiefs

KANSAS CITY - Former Wolf Pack linebacker Josh Mauga signed a one-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday.

Mauga has spent his entire career with the New York Jets, but missed last season while on the injured reserve with a back injury.

The Fallon native signed with the Jets after going undrafted out of Nevada back in 2009. The 6-foot-1, 245-pound inside linebacker has recorded 44 tackles and an interception in 29 career NFL games, including one start.

Mauga was a four-year starter at Nevada. He was named both All-Region and All-State while playing at Churchill County High School.

He joins fellow Nevada alum James-Michael Johnson on the Chiefs roster. Johnson is also a linebacker. Their former Nevada head coach, Chris Ault, is on the Chiefs staff as a consultant.
