ZURICH (AP) - FIFA has licensed the goal-line technology system Cairos as the third candidate for selection to be used at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

FIFA says Cairos, a German system using magnetic field technology, joins Hawk-Eye and GoalRef as officially approved projects. A fourth system has completed testing.

FIFA's rule-making panel approved goal-line technology last July.

Last week, FIFA invited bidders to compete for the World Cup and Confederations Cup contract. The winner is expected to be chosen in April.

Cairos originally competed with Hawk-Eye, a British camera-based system, when FIFA first evaluated goal-line technology several years ago.

Blatter ended his opposition after England midfielder Frank Lampard had a goal disallowed at the 2010 World Cup.
