FFC Praises USADA For Erasing Armstrong's Titles

PARIS (AP) - The French Cycling Federation is praising the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency for erasing Lance Armstrong's seven Tour de France titles because of doping.

Armstrong announced last week he would no longer challenge the USADA's drug charges against him. USADA then threw out his competitive victories dating to 1998 and banned him for life from the sport.

In a statement Thursday, the FFC says it "welcomes the perseverance of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency." It adds that "Armstrong's refusal to contest USADA's accusations sounds like an admission of his guilt."
