Josh Donaldson broke out of an 0-for-15 slump with a pair of long home runs as the Oakland Athletics' game against the Seattle Mariners was rained out in the top of the fourth inning with the Athletics ahead 12-1 Friday.

Donaldson hit a two-run homer and a solo shot. Seth Smith and Michael Choice also hit two-run homers for the A's, and Shane Peterson had a solo drive.

Seattle right-hander Hector Noesi allowed six earned runs. five hits, two walks and a hit batter, his third bad outing in four appearances. Competing for a rotation job, he has given up 12 earned runs and 16 hits in 5 2-3 innings.

None of the stats count because the game wasn't official.

Mariners 3B Stefen Romero, the club's 2012 minor league player of the year, left after two innings because of a trained left oblique and will be further evaluated Saturday. Romero is 7 for 15 in spring training with two home runs and eight RBIs.
