ST. LOUIS (AP) - Randall Delgado saw his first action in the big leagues this season Monday night and was quickly sent right back to the minors.

The Diamondbacks sent the right-hander back to Triple-A Reno after he worked two innings of relief in Arizona's 7-1 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. Delgado, who was recalled Saturday, gave up two runs on four hits, including a home run to Carlos Beltran. He also struck out three.

Manager Kirk Gibson said before the loss that Tyler Skaggs would get his second start of the season Tuesday against the Cardinals. Skaggs will fill the rotation spot of Brandon McCarthy, who is on the 15-day disabled list with shoulder issues. Skaggs gave up no runs on three hits over six innings in a 5-3 victory over Texas on May 27 in his only other appearance this year.
