Reno, NV., January. 24, 2013 — The Reno Bighorns fell to the Los Angeles D-Fenders Friday night 118-111. This was the fourth time the two teams have squared off this season. LA has taken three of the four games.
After being tied six times in the first quarter of play, the D-Fenders lead, 35-33 going into the second quarter. Brandon Heath had 16 points for the Bighorns after two quarters of play, while Terrence Williams had 15 points for LA at the half.
The second quarter was all Los Angeles as they led by as many as 18 points, but Reno rallied and only trailed by 6 points going into halftime. Heath continued his hot streak ending the first half with 21 points and 4 rebounds. Tyrell Biggs also scored in double figures with 10 points and 3 rebounds in the first half.
Los Angeles continued to lead throughout the third quarter with the help of Williams’ 11 points. In the fourth quarter, the Bighorns tied the game with 9:45 left in the quarter, but the D-Fenders quickly took back the lead and led by as many as 8 points in the final quarter of play.
The top player for the Reno Bighorns was Brandon Heath, who finished with 27 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds. Reno had six other players in double figures: Rivers 18 points and 9 rebounds, Bryan Davis 16 points and 8 rebounds, Tyrell Biggs 14 points, Mickell Gladness 13 points and Dequan Jones with 10 points.
The D-Fenders were led by Terrence Williams with a game-high 39 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Josh Maggette added another 17 points and James Southerland and Travis Hyman each had 12 rebounds.
