MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Missy Franklin was content to wait for the endorsement money that's bound to come after those five medals at the London Olympics.
She's experiencing plenty of fame, success and fun without it for now.
The 17-year-old Franklin has returned to the pool this weekend for the Minneapolis Grand Prix, three months after her remarkable performance at the Summer Games. The Colorado native recently announced plans to attend the University of California, where she'll swim next fall and compete for two seasons before turning pro in 2015. That's one year before the next Olympics in Brazil, but Franklin says she's not thinking about that yet.
Franklin says she'd rather pick college over cash, but her parents advised against waiting too long to accept sponsorships that could be worth millions.
