WENGEN, Switzerland (AP) - Christof Innerhofer of Italy led the downhill portion of a World Cup super-combined on Friday, and overall standings contenders Aksel Lund Svindal and Ted Ligety were in range to challenge.
Innerhofer, the world championship silver medalist, sped down a shortened Lauberhorn course in 1 minute, 47.99 seconds, 0.11 faster than Austrian Hannes Reichelt.
Kjetil Jansrud of Norway was third with 0.43 to make up in the afternoon slalom leg.
Carlo Janka of Switzerland, who won here in 2009, was 0.50 behind Innerhofer in fourth.
Svindal of Norway placed seventh, 0.93 back, and Ligety of the United States was 1.61 down in 13th.
Overall World Cup leader Marcel Hirscher of Austria skips speed events.
Ivica Kostelic of Croatia was 2.05 back, seeking a third straight win in the Wengen super-combined.
