Cardinals, Giants Minor Leaguers Suspended 50 Games

NEW YORK (AP) - Two minor league players have been suspended 50 games each for violating the drug policy.

The commissioner's office announced the penalties on Thursday.

St. Louis first baseman Alan Ahmady was suspended after a second violation for a drug of abuse. He was on the roster of Class A Palm Beach in the Florida State League.

San Francisco catcher Leonardo Rojas was banned after testing positive for metabolites of Nandrolone. He was on the roster of the Arizona League rookie team.

The penalties will begin at the start of next season.

There have been 92 suspensions under the minor league drug program this year and five in the big league program.
