Cahill Activated Off DL, Roe Sent to Triple-A Reno

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Diamondbacks right-hander Trevor Cahill has been activated from the 15-day disabled list and is scheduled to start against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Reliever Chaz Roe was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Saturday to open a roster spot for Cahill, who went a combined 0-2 with a 4.57 ERA in four minor-league rehab starts with the rookie-level Arizona League Diamondbacks and Triple-A Reno.

Cahill was 0-6 with a 7.91 ERA in his last eight starts for the Diamondbacks before being placed on the DL on July 1 with a bruised right hip. Overall, he is 3-10 with a 4.66 ERA in 17 starts this season.

Roe went 1-0 with a 5.40 ERA in five games.
