Burton And Story Honored By Mountain West

Nevada’s backcourt duo of junior Deonte Burton and senior Malik Story earned Mountain West honors as announced by the conference office today. The team was voted on by the nine conference coaches and select media. Both have started all 97 games of their career for the Wolf Pack.

Burton ranks sixth in the MW averaging 15.9 points per game and in conference play was also sixth scoring 16.1 per contest. He ranks in the top 10 in six categories in the conference. His 1,432 career points are 11th in school history.

Story is fourth in the conference averaging 16.6 points per game and his 16.4 points per game in MW play is fifth. He is the Pack record holder with 248 made three-pointers and 643 attempted. In just three seasons he ranks ninth in school history with 1,456 points.

Nevada opens play in the 2013 Reese’s Mountain West Championship on Tuesday at 5 p.m. versus Wyoming. The game can be viewed on the Mountain West Network through TheMWC.com.
