NEW ORLEANS, La.— Aces starter Mike Bolsinger tied his career high with 10 strikeouts on Tuesday night, but Reno suffered a 4-2 loss in the series finale against the New Orleans Zephyrs.

The loss concluded an eight game tour of the American South conference, during which the Aces claimed just one victory.

Matt Davidson’s two-RBI double in the seventh accounted for all of the Aces runs on the night. The slugger, who had been struggling in the second half, has gone 4-for-10 with three RBI and a run scored across Reno’s last three games.

Aces batters combined for just five hits on the night. Reno did not score earlier than the seventh inning against New Orleans throughout the entire series.

Bolsinger was charged with his fifth loss of the season. He was charged with four runs—three earned—on seven hits. The contest marked the second time this season he recorded 10 strikeouts in a game.

The Aces will enjoy the final league-wide off day of the season tomorrow, before beginning an eight game homestand against the Memphis Redbirds and Nashville Sounds. LHP Tyler Skaggs (6-7, 4.17 ERA) will get the nod for Reno Thursday, while the Redbirds will counter with RHP Boone Whiting (4-4, 4.36 ERA). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. PT.
