The Reno Bighorns’ (13-27) lost to the NBA D-League’s top team, the Bakersfield Jam (28-12) 115-102 Friday night in Bakersfield.
The Bighorns were led by Dar Tucker’s 28 points. Samardo Samuels recorded a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Ronald Dupree added 18 points.
The Jam were paced by Damion James’ 22 points and 11 rebounds. Jerel McNeal had 16 points and Adam Koch chipped in 15 points.
The Jam dominated the Bighorns in the paint, out-scoring Reno 62-38. Bakersfield also had 26 fast break points, compared to just six for Reno. The Jam out-rebounded the Bighorns 52-38.
The two teams will play again on Saturday night. The Bighorns return home on Thursday, March 21 to take on the Los Angeles D-Fenders.
