CINCINNATI (AP) - Bengals offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth says the Oakland Raiders who hit him and poked his face during an on-field skirmish are "cowards" who should be heavily fined by the NFL.
Whitworth and Raiders linemen Lamarr Houston and Tommy Kelly were ejected during the fourth quarter of Cincinnati's 34-10 victory on Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium. Whitworth expects a heavy fine for his role in what developed into an on-field brawl, but hadn't received anything from the league on Wednesday.
He confronted Houston - going facemask-to-facemask - after the defensive end tackled quarterback Andy Dalton even though a play had been whistled dead because of a false-start penalty. Others joined in, swinging.
Whitworth said the Raiders who took swings at him should be punished.
