Air Force QB Won't Play at Nevada

Air Force quarterback Jaleel Awini will not play this weekend against Nevada.

The school announced today that Awini " is "no longer a cadet in good standing and is not allowed to represent the Academy in outside activities." Those activities include football.

The school did not expand on the suspension, but added this in the press release "All cadets are held to the same high standards - honor, physical fitness, academics and military aptitude - and each case is handled on its own individual merits. Holding each cadet to these high standards promotes good order and discipline throughout the institution."

Awini completed 21 of his 42 passes for 275 yards and an interception this season. He also ran for 220 yards and four touchdowns.

This means that Karson Roberts will likely get the start on Saturday against the Wolf Pack. Roberts was the Falcons third-string quarterback, before starter Kale Pearson was lost for the season to a knee injury.

Roberts has played sparingly this season, passing for 85 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
