RENO, Nev.—The Reno Aces are hosting “Swings for Sparks” on Saturday, Nov. 9, as a fundraiser to benefit those affected by the Sparks Middle School tragedy, the club announced today.
Fans are invited to come to Aces Ballpark that day between 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the opportunity to take swings from the pitching machine on the field. Each pitch is $1, or fans can purchase 25 pitches for $20. All donations will go directly to the SMS Compassion Fund, set up by the Community Foundation of Western Nevada.
“Our hearts go out to all those affected by the tragedy at Sparks Middle School,” said Aces Chief Operating Officer Eric Edelstein. “We at the Aces look forward to creating an event which can help the healing process and celebrate our local heroes.”
