Aces Release Opening Day Starter

RENO - The Reno Aces released pitcher Alex Sanabia on Monday. Sanabia was the Opening Day starter for Reno this season.

He appeared in eight games, making four starts. Sanabia was 0-1 with an 8.10 ERA, giving up 23 runs (21 earned) and eight home runs in 23.1 innings pitched. Opposing players batted .394 against him this season.

Sanabia made 10 big-league starts in the majors last season with the Marlins. It was his first season in Reno.

The Aces activated pitcher Mark Serrano off the 7-day disabled list to take Sanabia's roster spot.
