Aces Lose OF Gillespie for Rest of Season

RENO - Reno Aces outfielder Cole Gillespie will undergo surgery this week and miss the rest of the season.

Gillespie has been playing for much of the season with a torn labrum in his hip. He should be recovered by the beginning of Spring Training.

It's a big blow to the Aces, who have a four game lead in the northern standing with just nine games to go. Their magic number to clinch a playoff spot is just five games.

Gillespie is batting .308 this season with 13 home runs and 66 RBI. He also had 35 doubles and four triples in 125 games.
