Reno Aces third baseman Matt Davidson won the Triple-A Home Run Derby on Monday in his own ballpark.
Davidson belted four homers in the final round, beating Memphis' star Brock Peterson for the title. Peterson is leading the Pacific Coast League with 22 home runs this year.
This adds to an already incredible week for Davidson. He was named the MVP on Sunday for his play in the All-Star Futures game in New York. Davidson hit a two-run home run in the United States' 5-2 win over the World Team.
Davidson will cap off the week as the starting third baseman in the Triple-A All-Star game on Wednesday in Reno.
McQueen high school graduate Kody Reynolds impressed the home crowd as well. He tied for second place in the first round, hitting four home runs. He added another in the second round, finishing in third place overall.
Reynolds qualified for the event by winning the high school home run derby back on July 3rd. He has already signed to play college baseball at Western Nevada next season.
