TUCSON, Ariz. — The pitching has been dominant, the defense has followed suit, and the offense is gaining traction as the Aces climbed over .500 for the first time in 2014 with a 6-4 win over the El Paso Chihuahuas at Kino Stadium in Tucson, Ariz. Sunday afternoon.

Reno trailed 1-0 early but came back to take the lead in the top of the fourth inning on Blake Lalli’s two-run double. The lead didn’t last long as Cody Decker hit a three-run homer off Alex Sanabia to put the Chihuahuas back on top, 4-2, in the bottom half of the inning.

The Aces had answers as they chipped away and eventually took the lead for good on Didi Gregorius’ RBI double in the seventh inning.

Starter Alex Sanabia allowed four runs on six hits in just 3 2/3 innings, but the bullpen continued its collective dominance.

Right-hander Derek Eitel relieved Sanabia in the fourth and calmly worked 2 1/3 innings of shutout baseball to earn the win. Evan Marshall worked the seventh, Kevin Munson worked a 1-2-3 eighth and Jess Todd struck out the side in the ninth to earn the save. Through 11 games, the bullpen carries a miniscule 1.41 ERA.

The offense collected 13 hits after 17 Saturday night, the first time this year they’ve had double-digit hits in back-to-back games. Ender Inciarte was 3-for-5 with a pair of singles, a double, three runs scored and a stolen base. Mike Jacobs extended his hitting streak to ten games with an RBI single in the ninth inning to give the Aces some breathing room at 6-4.

The two teams wrap up the four-game series Monday night in Tucson. The Aces have not announced a starting pitcher and El Paso turns to left-hander Juan Oramas (0-0, 4.50).
