RENO - Reno Aces pitcher Kris Benson will be called up by the Diamondbacks this week. Benson will become the team's 5th starter in their pitching rotation.
Benson made just one start for Reno, giving up just four hits in five innings pitched. He also had five strikeouts.
Benson was the number one overall pick back in the 1996 MLB draft. He had a 69-74 record with a 4.74 ERA over his eight-year major league career.
Benson will start for Arizona this weekend.
