PHOENIX (AP) - Chris Dickerson drove in the go-ahead run with a sixth-inning single and the split-squad Cincinnati Reds held on for a 4-3 win over the Oakland Athletics on Sunday.
Dickerson's hit scored Wladimir Belentien, who started the inning with a single off Oakland reliever Michael Wuertz. The right-hander, who developed into one of the top setup men in the American League last season, was making his first appearance of the spring after dealing with shoulder soreness.
Jonny Gomes hit his fourth homer of the spring to lead off the fourth inning.
Left-hander Aguido Gonzalez got the save, but not before walking a pair of hitters to put the winning runs on base.
Oakland shortstop Adam Rosales, acquired from the Reds in an offseason trade, began the fifth with a home run against his former team.
