RENO, Nev. — Reno Bighorns guard Desmon Farmer has been selected as an NBA Development League All-Star replacement, the league announced today.
Farmer, a 6-5 shooting guard out of USC, leads the Bighorns in scoring (24.1 ppg), minutes (40.8 mpg) and three-pointers made (68). On Jan. 16 at Idaho, Farmer set the Bighorns franchise scoring record with a 41-point performance in Reno's win over the Stampede.
The lefty from Flint, Mich., is a veteran of 11 NBA games over two seasons, splitting time between the Seattle Supersonics and San Antonio Spurs. On December 13 against Bakersfield, Farmer recorded the first of only eight triple-doubles in the D-League this season.
Farmer currently sits second on the all-time NBA Development League's scoring list, trailing only Rio Grande Valley's Will Conroy. Farmer has poured in 2,888 career points in just 140 games, for a career average of 20.6 points per game.
