PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Portland State coach Nigel Burton wrapped up signing day with 20 new Vikings, including 14 high school players and six junior college transfers.
Burton introduced his first recruiting class Wednesday after taking over at Portland State from Jerry Glanville, who resigned in November after three losing seasons.
Burton comes to the Vikings after serving as defensive coordinator at Nevada for two seasons. He is expected to introduce a pistol offense and a 4-3 defensive scheme at Portland State.
The 2010 Viking recruiting class includes 10 offensive players, eight defensive players, one who could play on either side of the ball and one who was recruited as an athlete.
