FOXBORO - A little bit more than a week after finding a new home with the Patriots, former Nevada and McQueen quarterback Jeff Rowe is mourning the loss of his former teammate, Chris Henry.
“It’s (stinks), it’s terrible,” Rowe told the Boston Herald.
Rowe played with Henry on the Bengals practice squad from 2007-2008.
The 26-year-old Henry fell off the back of a pickup truck during what police are calling a domestic dispute with his fiancee on Wednesday. He died early Thursday morning from his injuries.
Many who knew Henry have talked about how he was turning his life around after a having a history of issues off-the-field.
“He was working really hard to change his life,” Rowe said, according to the Boston Herald. “That’s probably the saddest part. He was such a great guy. Incredibly talented, his potential was unbelievable. I know everybody absolutely loved him. It just (stinks).”
Henry's funeral is set for next Tuesday in New Orleans where he grew up.
