Galena High School basketball player Luke Babbitt has changed his mind about Ohio State and will stay home at Nevada.
The 6-foot-8 Babbitt, who verbally committed last February to attend Ohio State, will now play for the Wolf Pack starting in the 2008-09 season.
Galena coach Tom Maurer says he thinks it was about family.
As he puts it, "Family has always been the most important thing for Luke and he just wanted to stay home and play."
Babbitt, who led the Grizzlies to the Class four-A state tournament in February, averaged 28 points and eleven rebounds last year. He was named the Northern four-A Region Co-Player of the Year along with Hug guard Armon Johnson.
Johnson will join the Wolf Pack in the fall. Babbitt will be a senior next season and will be the only returning member of the Grizzlies' state title team.
The Ohio native chose Ohio State last February over Nevada, Arizona, UCLA and Gonzaga.
