Nevada's Gandionco & Gem Ong To Represent Philippines At Southeast Asia Games
RENO, Nev. - University of Nevada swimmers Marichi Gandionco and Heidi Gem Ong will represent the Philippines at the 25th Southeast Asia Games being held Dec. 9-18 at Vientiane, Laos. Both swimmers are from Quezon City and are scheduled to take the pool on Thursday.

RENO, Nev. - University of Nevada swimmers Marichi Gandionco and Heidi Gem Ong will represent the Philippines at the 25th Southeast Asia Games being held Dec. 9-18 at Vientiane, Laos. Both swimmers are from Quezon City and are scheduled to take the pool on Thursday.
A junior Gandionco has helped the Wolf Pack win three consecutive Western Athletic Conference titles. She is expected to compete in the butterfly events at the games. A veteran of international competitions this will be her third trip to the SEA Games and twice she has competed in the World Championships. At the 2003 SEA Games she earned a silver medal in the 200-yard butterfly.
Ong is also junior for the Pack after joining the squad at semester last season and was a member of the 2009 WAC title team. She will compete in the 400-meter relay and her additional events have yet to be determined.
