NEW YORK - Bishop Manogue graduate Kevin Jepsen looked unfazed, despite pitching on the biggest stage in the most important game of his life.

Jepsen pitched a scoreless eighth and ninth inning for the Angels, helping Los Angeles send a crucial game two of the ALCS into extra innings against the Yankees.

New York would eventually win the game 4-3 in thirteen innings to go up 2-0 in the best-of-seven series.

In the eighth inning, the 25-year-old retired Jorge Posada on a ground out to second base before striking out Derek Jeter. Jepsen retired the side when Johnny Damon grounded out to second.

Jepsen looked just as strong to start the ninth. The righthander got sluggers Mark Teixeira and Alex Rodriguez to ground out, but then ran into some trouble when Hideki Matsui and Brett Gardner followed with back-to-back singles.

The Manogue alum got out of the inning when Robinson Cano hit a little dribbler that was handled by catcher Jeff Mathis.

Jepsen finished the night with the following line:
2 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 SO.
