PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The mayors of Philadelphia and Los Angeles are wagering food and public service on the outcome of the National League Championship Series.
Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter's office says the mayor of the winning team's city will spend a day volunteering for Habitat for Humanity. Both Nutter and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa say they see service as an honor.
The mayor of the losing team's city will donate food to the volunteers in the winning team's city. Nutter is offering Philadelphia cheesesteaks if the Dodgers win. Villaraigosa is offering frankfurters from the well-known Pink's Hot Dogs if the Phillies earn the pennant.
