RENO - Jordan Burris has committed to play basketball at Nevada beginning next season.

Both the RGJ and Silver & Blue Sports are reporting the verbal commitment.

Burris averaged 23 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game last year at Stockdale High School. He hit 51 percent of his shots and 38 percent of his 3-pointers as a junior.

The 6-foot-6 small forward was being recruited by a handful of other WAC schools. He was named All-Area last season by the Bakersfield Californian.

Burris plans to sign during the early signing period beginning on November 11th. He's the first player to commit for the class of 2010
