Tigers' Leyland Ejected In Loss To Twins

DETROIT (AP) - Tigers manager Jim Leyland was ejected in the eighth inning of Thursday afternoon's game against the Minnesota Twins.

Minnesota, which needed to win the game to prevent the Tigers from clinching the AL Central, led 8-2 at the time of the ejection.

Leyland came out after Jose Mijares' pitch went behind Adam Everett's back and plate umpire Angel Hernandez warned both dugouts. Marcus Thames and Denard Span were hit by pitches earlier in the game, and Thames was nearly hit a second time.
