DETROIT - Former Wolf Pack pitcher Eddie Bonine won his first game of the season on Wednesday night in the Tigers' 7-2 win over the Twins.
Bonine (1-1) scattered seven hits over five innings, giving up two runs while striking out three.
It was arguably the biggest outing of his career. The Tigers now lead the Twins by three games in the race for the AL Central title. There are only four games left in the season.
Bonine also lowers his ERA to 4.46 in 10 games this season; four of them starts.
