MORAGA, Calif. – The University of Nevada soccer team fell at St. Mary’s Thursday night, 4-2.
With the loss Nevada falls to 3-7 while St. Mary’s improved to 6-4.
The Gales took a 1-0 lead in the 42nd minute before Annabelle Allen’s penalty kick tied the game at 1-1 in the 45th minute.
St. Mary’s retook the lead in the 53rd minute and went up 3-1 in the 66th minute. The Gales scored again in the 77th minute to go ahead 4-1. Jill Erickson scored her fourth goal in five games in the 85th minute to bring the score to 4-2.
The Gales outshot the Pack 17-6 in the match including a 14-5 advantage in shots on goal. Devin Noe and Erickson led the Pack with two shots each.
Keeper Dana Moreno made a career-high 10 saves in the game while St. Mary’s keeper Tara Larson played 82 minutes and allowed one goal while Kate Brenot played nine minutes and allowed one goal.
Nevada will play at UC Davis on Sunday at noon.
