FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - After beating rival Colorado and holding off Weber State, the Colorado State Rams face their biggest test yet as they host Nevada on Saturday.

The Wolf Pack are a field-goal favorite, even though they've
never won in five trips to Fort Collins.

"This team will be the most talented team we have played and
they will give us everything we can handle - and that's if we're
playing at our best," Rams coach Steve Fairchild said.

Nevada (0-1) has had two weeks to prepare for the Rams (2-0)
after being demolished by Notre Dame, 35-0, in their opener.

"We need all the practice we could," coach Chris Ault said.
"Hopefully we got some things straightened out."

The Wolf Pack boasts an electric backfield tandem in running
back Vai Taua and quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Taua ran for 114
yards against the Irish, while Kaepernick was largely bottled up.

Still, the Rams realize the capabilities of Kaepernick, who
scrambled for 1,130 yards and threw for 2,849 last season.

"He makes that offense go," said Fairchild, whose team is
trying to improve to 3-0 for the first time since 1994. "He is a
very talented young man."

The Rams feature one of the top run defenses in the nation. On
offense, Colorado State will receive a boost from running back John
Mosure, who returns after missing a week with a head injury.

As for the Rams possibly looking ahead to seventh-ranked BYU
next week, Fairchild didn't think that would be a concern.

"They have guys that can score points and they have guys that
make plays on defense, so there will be no looking past anybody,
I'm quite certain," Fairchild said.

Especially after last weekend. The Rams received quite a scare
from lower-tier Weber State, needing a late fumble recovery to
secure a win.
