DENVER - San Jose State's Roxy Kamal and Nevada's Dana Moreno have been named Western Athletic Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for the week of Sept. 7-13.

Kamal, a senior forward from San Jose, Calif. (Presentation HS), recorded two goals and three assists for seven points in a pair of San Jose State road wins over Lafayette and Howard last week. Kamal opened the scoring in a 4-1 victory over Lafayette, tallying her first goal of the season and third of her career. Kamal assisted on each of the first three goals and scored in the 69th minute to help the Spartans to an 8-0 win over Howard. It was the first three-assist performance by a Spartan this decade, and the first multiple-assist effort by a SJSU player since 2006.

Moreno, a freshman goalkeeper from Chatsworth, Calif. (Chatsworth HS), registered two shutouts in a pair of Nevada wins over Fordham and Sacramento State. Moreno made her first career start against Fordham and recorded her first career shutout in the Pack's 1-0 win. With the shutout, Moreno became the second goalie in program history to record a shutout victory in her first career start. Moreno then recorded her second career shutout in Nevada's 2-0 victory over Sacramento State, helping the Wolf Pack to its first back-to-back wins since Sept. 30, 2007. Moreno also collected seven saves over the two matches.
